the joy of baking :)

so i had a couple of reasons to make glorious cupcakes this weekend:

1. wish party for my make a wish child on sunday (he's going to hawaii!)
2. my friend heather's bridal shower
3. our neighbors just found out their preggers (well, laura is)

i thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try this yumalicious recipe for buttermilk cupcakes/lemon frosting, that my friend kate had posted on her blog.

i'm happy to report that they turned out wonderful. i added some yellow food coloring to the frosting, to give it more of a lemony feel - and also added some pretty sugar i picked up at Star Provisions, as carey would agree, a girl can go crazy in that store.
