syrupy confessions

it is 3:23am and i'm STILL awake. which is no surprise to most of you, because you know what an insomniac i am. and since i'm feeling a bit delirious, i thought i'd share a confession with you. i absolutely love hallmark hall of fame dvd's. for years now, it has been tradition that my little brother, (who technically i can't call little anymore, because he towers over me and is 24) has bought me a hallmark dvd for christmas each year. but the thing is, i never watch it right away. no, i need to hang onto it for months (sometimes just a few weeks) until i LET myself watch it. because once you watch it, the magic is a bit lost. i recently watched one with alicia silverstone in it called "candles on bay street" - - which, of course, in true typical hallmark fashion, ended with me crying in a pile of kleenex. but, in a good way. "the locket" and "the love letter" are also two of my other favorites. the hallmark stories are somewhat predictable, but i love them because they truly capture the emotion and inspiration of the human spirit. there's never any swearing, no sex scenes, no gore - i'm not saying that those things don't have their place in certain movies, but i really treasure these dvd's because they are still able to tell a heartwarming story without those. if you have netflix, add a few. just see what you think. and while i'm dishing it out, i might as well let you know that i also can sit and watch the lifetime movie channel for hours on end, as well as the disney channel and abc family. there, it is OUT. :) but i'm not truly without my tv flaws. i also have a penchant for horrible reality TV shows including "america's top model", "survivor" and "the hills"...
