Goodbye Reggie....

it was a sad day yesterday when little mr. reggie had to be put to sleep. he lived a nice long life of almost 17 years. we adopted him when we lived in hendersonville, tn - - and he went on many road trips with us back and forth between nashville and maine. we'd all put our pillows on our laps and he'd run on our laps.

he loved cheese and snausages and any other tidbit he could get his mouth on. at christmastime he's "open" his gifts that had treats inside. one of his favorite things to do was to steal candy canes off the christmas tree. mom would usually put a few on the bottom, just for him.

he was certainly our family dog and was meant to be ours! one time, he was lost in another neighborhood in a different town from us, and raoul went back to look for him days later and found him. he loved everyone! even though he was getting older, every time i came home, he's come out of his room to "play" for a little while. sometimes i'd call him when he was coming in from one of his walks and he'd even run down the hallway in the condo and show me a flash of the young pup that was.

he always had a playful and happy spirit and loved attention. when he'd sleep with me, he's sleep with his head on the pillow next to mine, just like a little person. he was a wonderful pup, and he'll be missed terribly. i love you, reggie!
